Denied Love

The binding is torn, I’ve been reading this so much,

And I never got bored

I was drawn in to a world of marriage and manners

As long as you had money, not much else mattered

His pride was consuming, chilling to the touch

Her prejudice was undeniable, she judged in a rush

Their love was deep, too deep to deny

They denied it anyway, and it made me want to cry!

I wanted to yell at them for being such fools!

I wanted to scream at them to stop being so rude!

Tears filled my eyes as they went their separate ways

It was too much to handle, and I was filled with hate!

What book did I read, you ask?

It was a good book, you can be sure of that!

I read Pride and Prejudice. It’s a classic, you might say

The author was Jane Austen. You know, one of those from back in the day?

I loved it a lot, too good to be true.

I think you should read it, so you’ll love it too!
